Rowing BC is excited to announce that Lindsay Jennerich and Patricia Obee of the RCA Lightweight Women’s Double Sculls have been selected as finalists for the Team Athlete of the Year Award at the Sport BC 51st Annual Athlete of the Year Awards. The Team Athlete of the Year Award is intended to recognize an amateur team competing in a Sport BC sanctioned league, representing BC. Jennerich and Obee have had a particularly exciting year, including silver medals at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Rowing BC will also be recognizing Herb Evers with the President’s Award at this event. The President’s Award is intended to recognize an individual who represents the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy, and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization. Evers stands out for serving 10 years on the Board of Rowing BC, chairing various committees, serving as a Director on the Board of the False Creek Rowing Club, and fundraising for the 2016 National Rowing Championships and Canada Cup Regatta, among his many other involvements in the BC rowing community. We look forward to honouring Evers at the awards evening.

The Awards Gala will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.

Rowing BC will purchase tables of seats on behalf of members who would like to attend in order to make use of the full-table discounted cost for everyone involved. Ticket costs will be invoiced back to individuals after the final number of tickets have been purchased. Tickets are expected to be between $120-140 per seat.

If you would like to attend this memorable evening, please contact Sonja Lonne with the number of tickets requested, and you will be included in the seats Rowing BC arranges. Deadline to request tickets = Monday, February 20th at 2 pm.
