As part of the Canadian Sport for Life movement, Rowing BC and many rowing clubs in British Columbia have adopted the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles as the framework for programming.

To encourage athletes along the LTAD pathway, Rowing BC facilitates various provincial wide athlete programs including the BC Summer Games, Team BC initiatives (e.g. Canada Summer Games and the RCA National Rowing Championships), and the Row To Podium program.

BC Summer Games

BC Summer Games

The BC Summer Games is a four-day event that takes place every two years throughout the province of BC. There are many opportunities for athletes to compete in the games and Rowing has been a major component to the games since 2010.

Team BC Initiatives

Team BC Initiatives

As a member of Team BC, athletes can attend multi-sport competitions and gain valuable competition experience to prepare them for their life-long rowing career, whether it results in being active for life, or becoming a World Champion.

Row To Podium Project

Row To Podium Project

Row to Podium is Canada’s official talent identification and development program for rowing. It was designed specifically to find tall, young and fit athletes with no experience in rowing and develop new athletes into future Olympic/Paralympic Champions.
