rca-learn-to-row-workshop

The RCA Learn To Row Coach Workshop will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to run a safe and quality program that introduces beginners of all ages to the sport.

It is a two day workshop typically offered over one weekend.

Not only does this workshop provide you with 12 lesson plans to use or adapt for your own program, but it also introduces drills, and how to set up equipment, to ensure a safe, fun, comfortable, and injury-free, rowing experience.

Who Should Take This Workshop?

Anyone with experience rowing at the high school, club, or university level with basic rowing technical knowledge and who wants to instruct new rowers.

Who Would You Coach?

You would coach individuals with no previous rowing experience who are in the Learn to Train stage of LTAD. Athlete ages could range from 10 years old to 65, depending on the type of program. Programs could be for youth, kids camps, university students, and/or adults taking a Learn to Row course.

Modules in the workshop include:

  • Rowing Canada & the NCCP
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Analyze Performance – The Rowing Stroke
  • Safety, Risk Management and the Emergency Action Plan
  • Plan a Learn to Row Lesson
  • Teach a LTR Lesson

Following this workshop you will be designated a ‘Trained’ LTR Coach.
