Rowing BC Membership Fee Structure

Rowing BC charges the following three types of membership fees:

  • Organization Membership Fees
  • Participant Fees
  • Regatta Seat Fees

The Rowing BC membership year runs April 1 – March 31 of the following year. Participants will be charged a Rowing BC participant fee at the time that a member organization first activates them in a program for the given membership year.

Participants who are involved at more than one member organization will only be charged Rowing BC participant fees at the time of the first activation. Joining additional programs within the same membership year will not incur additional Rowing BC participant fees.

Example:

If a participant is activated in a program at Organization A on April 2 and activated in a program at Organization B on April 10, the Rowing BC participant fees will only be included in the invoice to Organization A. This participant is now an active member of Rowing BC until March 31.

For participants in programs that span across the end of a membership year, Rowing BC participant fees will be charged at the time they are activated in a program at the rate currently in place for the on-going membership year. Their membership will remain valid until the end of the membership year in which their program ends without needing to make another payment. When they first join a new program in the second membership year, they will be charged at the time of that activation for the current fee in that membership year.

Example:

If a participant is activated in a program that starts September 2018 and ends May 2019, they will be charged the Rowing BC participant fee in place as of September 2018. Their membership will be valid until March 31, 2020 (as their program ends in the 2019-2020 Rowing BC membership year) even though they have not made a payment during the 2019-2020 Rowing BC membership year. However, if they are activated in a new program in June 2019, they will be charged the Rowing BC participant fee in place as of June 2019 since this will be their first payment in the 2019-2020 Rowing BC membership year.
