The RCA Learn To Row Coach Workshop will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to run a safe and quality program that introduces beginners of all ages to the sport.
It is a two day workshop typically offered over one weekend.
Not only does this workshop provide you with lesson plans to use or adapt for your own program, but it also introduces drills, and how to set up equipment, to ensure a safe, fun, comfortable, and injury-free, rowing experience.
Who Should Take This Workshop?
Anyone with experience rowing at the high school, club, or university level with basic rowing technical knowledge and who wants to instruct new rowers.
Who Would You Coach?
You would coach individuals with no previous rowing experience who are in the Learn to Train stage of LTAD. Athlete ages could range from 10 years of age and upwards, depending on the type of program. Programs could be for youth, kids camps, university students, persons with a disability, and/or adults taking a Learn to Row course.
In preparation for the workshop, coaches will need to take two online e-learning modules through the Coaches Association of Canada website.

- Once you are in your account, click on e-learning at the top of the page.
- You will see Coach Initiation in Sport and/or RCA Essentials in the menu on the left.
- Click on the name of the module you are taking and proceed through.
*Note: There is a fee associated with each of the online e-learning modules that must be paid online before the module will become accessible.
