SUMMARY:Monthly Conference Content Series - Coaching and Leading Safe Sport
DESCRIPTION:Rowing BC has designed a Monthly Conference Content Series to deliver valuable content and resources to you\, our membership\, consistently throughout the year in a virtual setting. Once a month Rowing BC will host an evening special topic presentation followed by an open opportunity to bring up other ongoing questions/comments/concerns with Rowing BC’s President\, Executive Director\, and Head Provincial Coach. \nSafeSport is a familiar phrase. Putting it into practice\, however\, is a lot more than recognizing the phrase or posting a series of updated policies on your website. It comes down to changing the underlying philosophy driving behaviour and interactions. This session will introduce recent work related to SafeSport\, and then delve deeper into how proactive vs. reactive communication can assist leaders (coaches\, umpires\, Board members\, administrators\, managers etc.) to create environments that don’t just align with SafeSport in theory\, but really help athletes to thrive. \nRegister HERE.
