Even a great Board can become a shaky Board if there is turnover and the roles were unclear or the succession plan was not fully thought through. Help ensure your organization is strong with you there and will remain strong when someone else takes your seat. \nAccess complete information here

Putting it into practice\, however\, is a lot more than recognizing the phrase or posting a series of updated policies on your website. It comes down to changing the underlying philosophy driving behaviour and interactions. This session will introduce recent work related to SafeSport\, and then delve deeper into how proactive vs. reactive communication can assist leaders (coaches\, umpires\, Board members\, administrators\, managers etc.) to create environments that don’t just align with SafeSport in theory\, but really help athletes to thrive. \nRegister HERE.

SUMMARY:Monthly Conference Content Series - Diversity and Inclusion
DESCRIPTION:Rowing BC has designed a Monthly Conference Content Series to deliver valuable content and resources to you\, our membership\, consistently throughout the year in a virtual setting. Once a month Rowing BC will host an evening special topic presentation followed by an open opportunity to bring up other ongoing questions/comments/concerns with Rowing BC’s President\, Executive Director\, and Head Provincial Coach. \nDiversity and inclusion are two of the most important topics in Canada today. Openly discussing these issues has the potential to positively address biases and prejudices that happen within our community\, and learn how to embrace our differences.  Including the valuable inputs and perspectives all members bring to your club will not only create a more positive environment but will foster opportunities for growth.  Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy sport that is welcoming\, inclusive and accessible to all. \nThe December conference session will have two parts\, an overview of diversity and inclusion\, followed by a look at what including those on the autism spectrum actually looks and feels like. This session is Part One of a larger series Rowing BC will be hosting in the coming months looking at including under-represented groups in your programming. \nAccess complete information here
