SUMMARY:WORKSHOP: RCA Coastal Coach Workshop (Virtual Component)
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview: \nThe RCA Coastal Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with coastal rowers. \n\nThis workshop is divided into two components – a virtual component and an in-person component. Coaches should plan to attend a virtual component and an in-person component in the same season if possible as the content is interconnected. \n\nIn the coastal workshops you will learn about and discuss: coastal rowing safety\, training and race skills\, boat handling\, rigging\, and Rules of Racing. \n\n\nDetails:  \nThis workshop will be delivered virtually (via Zoom) over the combination of two evenings: \n\nThursday\, March 19th 6-9 PM\nTuesday\, March 24th 6-9 PM\n\nFull engagement during all sessions is required to receive credit for this workshop. \nRegistration:  Registration and payment ($75 workshop fee) is available through EventBrite HERE. \nRegistration will close at 8 AM on Thursday\, March 12\, 2026. There must be a minimum of 4 registrants at that time for this workshop to proceed. Contact memberservices@rowingbc.ca if you have missed the deadline and want to know more about other upcoming opportunities. \nPre-requisites:  \nBefore taking this workshop\, all coaches must have completed the following RCA Every Coach Certified Requirements: \n\nCriminal Record Check\nNCCP Coach Initiation In Sport (Online Module)\nRCA Rowing Essentials (Online Module)\nMaking Ethical Decisions Module (Multiple Delivery Options Available)\n\nInformation about how to complete each of these requirements is available HERE. \nIn addition\, coaches are expected to have a Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card. \n\nHave further questions? Reach out! \nAdditional information about the Coach Pathway is available HERE.
