SUMMARY:Level 2 Umpire Seminar (Part 3)
DESCRIPTION:The Level 2 Seminar is required once every three years for Level 2\, 3\, 4\, and 5 Umpires in order to meet the standard set by RCA. This Seminar will be offered in a virtual environment over the course of three sessions. The sessions have been scheduled for Monday April 26th\, May 17th and June 7th each at 7:30 PM. Each session will run for 60-75 min total. As much participation through chat and discussion as possible is encouraged. Sessions will be collaboratively facilitated by BC’s four Umpire Clinicians and Associate Umpire Clinicians – Mike Bagshawe\, Simon Litherland\, Tim Henderson and Ge-An Rijniersce. \nComplete your registration HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Location: TBD \nDescription: The 2022 Rowing BC Annual Umpire Conference will be held on February 12\, 2022 from 9 AM-12 PM. The format for the event\, whether virtual or in-person\, will be decided by mid-January\, but save the date! \nAll umpires\, regardless of experience level\, are encouraged to attend. The conference will include updates from umpire-related committees and projects both provincially and nationally\, and an opportunity to see your colleagues\, even if it has to be on a screen. A detailed agenda\, along with support materials\, will be released in early February. \nThis annual seminar is an important opportunity to keep the entire umpire community in BC connected\, now more than ever. SUMMARY:SEMINAR: Rowing BC Umpire Leadership Forum
DESCRIPTION:Rowing BC’s Umpire Committee (UC) is made up of Licensed Umpires elected by their peers to serve a 1-2 year term. In general terms\, the responsibilities of the UC including ensuring all regatta juries are appropriately filled in advance of regattas\, providing oversight to umpire recruitment\, education and development\, and keeping an eye on the umpire components of Rowing BC’s overall budget. Complete details can be found in the Terms of Reference HERE. \nBeginning in 2024\, the UC invited Chief Umpires and Clinicians to occasionally provide additional insight on chosen topics through what became known as the Leadership Forum. Through this avenue\, the Umpire Committee could both share information with Clinicians and Chief Umpires more frequently than otherwise possible\, and have an avenue to solicit their input. \nThe Umpire Leadership Forum will be meeting in Tsawwassen on Saturday\, November 15th.
