DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview: \nThe RCA Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with athletes interested in regional and provincial competition (those in the Train to Train and Learn to Compete stage of Long Term Athlete Development). \nThis workshop is divided into two weekends of learning – RCA Coach Weekend 1 Workshop and RCA Coach Weekend 2 Workshop. In general\, it is encouraged that coaches leave a gap between taking these workshops in order to develop their portfolio and use the knowledge gained from the first workshop before returning for the second one. \nIn these workshops you will learn about and discuss: Long Term Athlete Development\, analyzing rowing technique\, analyzing rigging (including adaptations for para athletes)\, designing a sport program\, movement screens\, planning a practice\, supporting athletes in training\, testing and monitoring athlete performance\, and supporting competitive experiences. \nFollowing completion of this workshop your status will be “RCA Coach In-Training” and you will be ready to take the RCA Coach Weekend 2 Workshop within a few months (keep an eye out for options in the Fall!). \nDetails:  \nThis workshop will be delivered in a hybrid format\, split across three dates: \n\nMonday\, August 25th 5:45-9:00 PM (via Zoom)\nThursday\, August 28th 5:45-9:00 PM (via Zoom)\nSunday\, August 31st 9:30 AM-4:00 PM (in-person – Vernon\, BC)\n\nFull engagement during all three sessions is required to have completed the RCA Coach Weekend 1 workshop. \nRegistration:  Registration and payment ($275 workshop fee) is available through EventBrite HERE. \nRegistration will close at 8 AM on Monday\, August 11th. DESCRIPTION:Brentwood Regatta hosted by Brentwood College School Rowing.  \nLocation: Brentwood College School (2735 Mt Baker Rd\, Mill Bay\, BC) \nDescription: The 1500m Brentwood Regatta has been held annually since 1971. This international event is attended by Junior rowers from schools and clubs across BC and the Pacific Northwest of the US. For many\, this is the pinnacle event of the Spring season\, and it also functions as the qualification regatta for Canadian crews to qualify for Windermere Cup.
