DESCRIPTION:Level 2 Umpire Clinic\n\nAssistant (Level 1) Umpires – If you have been attending regattas this Spring and have had the chance to:\n\ndo at least one shift each in the positions of Control\, Finish\, Start\, and Judge at the Start; and\nobserve (ride along) with a Race Umpire\,\n\nthen you may be ready to take the Level 2 Umpire Clinic! \nThe Level 2 Umpire Clinic provides an opportunity to delve deeper into each of the four positions you have already tried\, and equips you to also be in the Race Umpire position. DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview:  \nThe RCA Learn to Row Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with beginner athletes (those in the Learn to Train stage of Long Term Athlete Development). \nIn this workshop you will learn about and discuss: safety\, analyzing the rowing stroke\, Long Term Athlete Development\, lesson planning\, skills analysis\, teaching and learning\, rigging\, para rowing\, and modifying Learn to Row lessons to meet the needs of your club and the participants. \nFollowing completion of this workshop you will be “RCA Learn to Row Coach Trained”. \nDetails:  \nThis workshop will be delivered virtually (over Zoom)\, split across two dates: \n\nSaturday\, June 7th 2:30-6:30 PM\nSaturday\, June 21st 2:30-6:30 PM\n\nFull engagement during both sessions is required to have completed the RCA Learn to Row Coach workshop. \nRegistration:  Registration and payment ($200 workshop fee) is available through EventBrite HERE. \nRegistration will close at 8 AM on Monday\, May 26th. There must be a minimum of 6 registrants at that time for this workshop to proceed. DESCRIPTION:Lap the Lake hosted by Vernon Rowing and Dragon Boat Club.  \nLocation: Swan Lake\, Vernon \nDescription: This regatta follows a unique format with 3500m racing in the morning\, followed by a regatta BBQ\, and 500m racing after lunch. This event is primarily attended by teams from the Interior\, as an important chance to race and connect as a community. It is also attended by teams from the Lower Mainland looking for a friendly racing opportunity where each athlete will have more than one chance to race. This event is appropriate for beginners and those who like to row for fun. SUMMARY:COME TRY ROWING: Vancouver
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Vancouver Rowing Club\, Rowing BC is hosting a Come Try Rowing day at the Vancouver Rowing Club in Stanley Park on Saturday\, March 1st from 11 AM – 4 PM. Participants will be assigned to a 2 hr timeslot within that window\, and are welcome/encouraged to enjoy socializing at the Vancouver Rowing Club onsite pub before and after their come try experience. \nThis event is open to anyone age 13+. No experience necessary. Adaptive equipment will be available for those who need it. \nThere is no cost to attend. \nAdvanced registration is required…. Registration is now closed due to oversubscription. Please let us know if you are interested in finding another opportunity to try rowing! \nFollowing your registration\, you will be contacted with additional details about what to wear and bring to the event.
