DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview: \nThe RCA Learn to Row Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with beginner athletes (those in the Learn to Train stage of Long Term Athlete Development). \nIn this workshop you will learn about and discuss: safety\, analyzing the rowing stroke\, Long Term Athlete Development\, lesson planning\, skills analysis\, teaching and learning\, rigging\, para rowing\, and modifying Learn to Row lessons to meet the needs of your club and the participants. \nFollowing completion of this workshop you will be “RCA Learn to Row Coach Trained”. \nDetails:  \nThis workshop will be delivered in multiple formats on this same date: \n\nVictoria In-person Workshop 9 AM – 5 PM – Register HERE\nVancouver In-person Workshop 9 AM – 5 PM – Register HERE\nVirtual Workshop (intended for participants from the Interior) 9 AM – 5 PM – Register HERE\n\nRegistration:  Registration and payment ($200 workshop fee) is available through the EventBrite links above. \nRegistration will close on Friday\, November 6\, 2026. As programs transition indoors after fall rowing\, set the benchmark for your erg training by competing at the SMUS Winter Sprinter Ergatta Nov 21\, 2026 in the main gym on our Richmond Rd. Campus (Victoria\, BC). With a focus on timed pieces this event is uniquely formatted to allow participants to cross the finish line together while challenging them to answer the question\, “How far can you go?”. SUMMARY:WORKSHOP: RCA Coach Weekend 1 Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview: \nThe RCA Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with athletes interested in regional and provincial competition (those in the Train to Train and Learn to Compete stage of Long Term Athlete Development). \nThis workshop is divided into two weekends of learning – RCA Coach Weekend 1 Workshop and RCA Coach Weekend 2 Workshop. Rowing BC offers Weekend 1 annually in November and Weekend 2 annually in January. Coaches are encouraged to take these as a set rather than waiting more than a year in between workshops. \nIn these workshops you will learn about and discuss: Long Term Athlete Development\, analyzing rowing technique\, analyzing rigging (including adaptations for para athletes)\, designing a sport program\, movement screens\, planning a practice\, supporting athletes in training\, testing and monitoring athlete performance\, and supporting competitive experiences. \nFollowing completion of this workshop your status will be “RCA Coach In-Training” and you will be ready to take the RCA Coach Weekend 2 Workshop. \nDetails:  \nThis workshop will be delivered in-person in Victoria\, BC: \n\nFriday\, November 27th 6 – 8 PM\nSaturday\, November 28th 9 AM – 5 PM\nSunday\, November 29th 9 AM – 5 PM\n\nFull engagement during all sessions is required to have completed the RCA Coach Weekend 1 workshop. \nRegistration:  Registration and payment ($275 workshop fee) is available through EventBrite HERE. \nRegistration will close at 8 AM on Friday\, November 13\, 2026.
