SUMMARY:U17 Development Camp (Lower Mainland)
DESCRIPTION:This camp is specifically designed for U17 athletes with an interest in representing their Zone at the 2026 BC Summer Games in July. Come train alongside other U17 athletes and learn what to expect from the BC Summer Games selection and competition process.\n\nThis is a one-day\, full-day camp running from 10 AM – 3 PM on Sunday\, March 1\, hosted at the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse (7277 River Rd\, Richmond). DESCRIPTION:Workshop Overview: \nThe RCA Learn to Row Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with beginner athletes (those in the Learn to Train stage of Long Term Athlete Development). \nIn this workshop you will learn about and discuss: safety\, analyzing the rowing stroke\, Long Term Athlete Development\, lesson planning\, skills analysis\, teaching and learning\, rigging\, para rowing\, and modifying Learn to Row lessons to meet the needs of your club and the participants. \nFollowing completion of this workshop you will be “RCA Learn to Row Coach Trained”. \nDetails:  \nThis workshop will be delivered in-person at the Vancouver Rowing Club (450 Stanley Park Drive) from 10:00 AM – 4:45 PM on Saturday\, March 7th. \nRegistration:  Registration and payment ($200 workshop fee) is available through the EventBrite HERE. \nRegistration will close on Sunday\, March 1st. Each workshop offering requires a minimum of 6 participants in order to proceed. DESCRIPTION:Elk Lake Spring Regatta hosted by Victoria City Rowing Club.  \nLocation: Victoria City Rowing Club (5100 Patricia Bay Hwy\, Victoria\, BC) \nDescription: This 1850m sprint race is an opportunity to kick-start the Spring racing season\, both for performance athletes\, and for others just looking for an event early in the season. It is primarily attended by teams from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland\, with some additional reach into the Pacific NorthWest and/or Alberta. The format of the race is a dual style head-to-head race where two crews start side by side and race the best line over the set distance on either the Gorge Waterway or the Fraser River.
