SUMMARY:SELECTION EVENT: BC Summer Games Zone 2
DESCRIPTION:The BC Summer Games is a four-day event that takes place every two years\, providing one of the few opportunities for Junior athletes to experience a multi-sport games. \nAt the 2026 BC Summer Games\, over 3000 athletes\, coaches\, and officials will participate across 19 sports hosted by the City of Kelowna. Rowing will be represented by 8 Zone teams\, each consisting of 2 coaches and 8 U17 athletes (4 male and 4 female). Athletes from each Zone will race in the Men’s and Women’s 1x\, Men’s and Women’s 2x\, Men’s and Women’s 4x\, and Mixed 4x event categories on a 1000m course on Swan Lake in Vernon\, BC. \nFind out which Zone you live in HERE. \n\nZone Selection Events\nEach zone has a process for receiving Expressions of Interest from eligible athletes\, along with an in-person selection event that will be used to select the 8 athletes for the Zone team. SUMMARY:REGATTA: Lap the Lake (Vernon)
DESCRIPTION:Lap the Lake hosted by Vernon Rowing and Dragon Boat Club.  \nLocation: Swan Lake\, Vernon \nDescription: This regatta follows a unique format with 3500m racing in the morning\, followed by a regatta BBQ\, and 500m racing after lunch. This event is primarily attended by teams from the Interior\, as an important chance to race and connect as a community. It is also attended by teams from the Lower Mainland looking for a friendly racing opportunity where each athlete will have more than one chance to race. This event is appropriate for beginners and those who like to row for fun. In addition to the regatta\, a special topic speaker or professional development session is usually planned in association with the regatta to make it a fun-filled racing and learning weekend. \nRegistration: Registration and more information available on Regatta Central. \nQuestions can be directed to the Local Organizing Committee Chair.

SUMMARY:CAMP: U17 and U19 Development Camp (Vernon)
DESCRIPTION:U17 and U19 Development Camp (Vernon)\nPlan a full weekend in Vernon by attending the Lap the Lake Regatta on Saturday\, June 13\, followed by attending this Rowing BC  Development Camp on Sunday\, June 14 at the same location! \nWho: \nThis camp is intended for U17 and U19 athletes from across BC who are looking for additional chances to be coached by experienced coaches from outside of their home training environment\, and to learn from other athletes while training alongside them. The camp is being run to support and enhance available training opportunities\, especially for athletes based in the Interior. In addition\, it creates an opportunity for local coaches to be mentored by experienced coaches who are regularly based outside of the region. \nAdditional details will be shared closer to the camp dates. \nWhat: \nThis one-day camp is an opportunity to: \n\naccess coaching from mentor coaches outside of the region\ntrain together with athletes from a variety of other home training environments\, building community and learning from one another\naccess specialty sessions from service providers that may not regularly be available in your home training environment\n\nWhere: Vernon Rowing and Dragon Boat Club\, Swan Lake\, Vernon\, BC \nCamp Schedule:  \n\n7:30 – 9:30 AM First Row – technical session (small boats)\n10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Dryland Special Topic Session with guest TBA\n12:00-1:00 PM Lunch – participants to bring own lunch or choose something nearby\n1:00-3:00 PM Second Row – rate capped pieces against Gold Medal Standards (big boats)\n3:30 PM Wrap Up and Debrief\n\nRegistration:  \nRegister via EventBrite HERE.
