We are looking for a positive, energetic, part-time coach for our VCRC Adult Programs
The Adult Program includes members 19 and over from all different backgrounds, experiences and abilities ranging from long-time members to newly graduated Novices. Programming ranges from Active for Life (staying fit, improving technically, and having fun), Competitive for Life (staying fit, improving technique, developing racing skills and competing at local and regional regattas) and Adult Competitive (high intensity training, perfecting technique, improving racing skills and going faster to race at local, regional, and national regattas).
VCRC is looking to hire an assistant coach for 2-6 sessions per week. Applicants should be comfortable coaching a wide range of age and skill levels in order to assist where needed between different training groups and have the capacity to run group sessions independently or collaboratively with a coaching team.
Assistant coaching staff is currently needed for early morning sessions with some additional hours possible, on occasion, during mid morning or evening rows. Adult training sessions run Monday-Friday at 5:45am, Tuesdays/Thursdays at 8:00am, Saturdays at 6:45am, and Monday/Wednesday/Friday evenings. The assistant coach will work under the supervision of the Director of Adult Rowing.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Pleasure Craft Operators Card (required)
• Standard First Aid Certification (required)
• Current Criminal Records Check (required)
• Coaching Certification: RCA Coach (preferred) or Learn to Row Instructors
• Will be required to complete RCA Every Coach Certified upon hiring
• Experience working with adults of all ages and skill levels
Wage to be determined on experience and certification (base wage starts at $16.25/hr)
