VCRC Adult Club Coach (Part-time)
VCRC is looking for a positive, energetic coach to coach the VCRC Adult Club program 5-6 sessions/wk.
The Adult Club group includes members 19 and over, in the Competitive for Life and Active for Life stages, who are interested in training to get fit, improve technically and race at local and regional regattas. The focus of the Adult Club training group is on training consistently to get fitter and faster, to compete and to have fun. This group includes both long time VCRC members and those who have recently made the transition from the VCRC Novice program.
The Adult Club Coach will work under the direction of the VCRC Director of Adult who will provide oversight of the program. The Adult Club Coach will be responsible for writing programs, running the workouts, providing coaching feedback, creating a positive training environment, making crew boatings and providing coaching support at regattas.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday 5:45 am-7:45 am
Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 am -10:30 am
Occasional Saturday times trials from 6:45 am-8:45 am
2hrs of paid time for admin and program writing per week.
During winter season (November-late February) the M/W/F on water sessions with change to Monday and Friday dry land erg sessions. There are no Wednesday morning sessions during winer. Coaching for these dryland sessions may be shared with the Director, Adult Rowing.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Pleasure Craft Operators Card (required)
• Coaching certification: RCA Coach (preferred) or Learn to Row*
• RCA Every Coach Certified
• Experience working with adults of all ages and skill levels.
*We will consider equivalent experience if the coach is prepared to complete RCA Coach training within the year.
