DESCRIPTION:Date: August 30 – September 1\, 2019\nLocation: Burnaby Lake\nHosts: Rowing BC\, Burnaby Lake Rowing Club\nTopic: Technique and Head Race Prep\nMinimum Participants: 12\nCost to participate: $275 \nThis camp is an opportunity for flatwater rowers to benefit from coaches outside of their own daily training environment to work on technical adjustments in preparation for the head racing season. The camp will include a one-on-one rigging session to help each participant set their boat up for maximal efficiency\, on-water sessions followed by video analysis\, as well as on-land sessions focused on strength & conditioning specific to the needs of Masters athletes. Participants should be comfortable rowing a racing 1x or 2-. All participants are required to provide their own equipment (secure storage will be provided on-site). Those wanting to participate in a 2- must provide their own partner. Registration includes a limited-edition Rowing BC Masters Camp longsleeve technical shirt. \nCoaching: \nCoaching will be provided by Rowing BC Provincial Coach\, Rob Richards\, and former National Team Coach\, Roger Meager. \nShortly after winning a Silver medal for Australia at the Sydney 2000 Olympics\, Rob retired from High Performance rowing and has since focused on coaching. His coaching roles prior to 2015 in Australia\, and since 2015 here in BC\, have provided him opportunities to work with rowers of all stages of development ranging in age from Juniors to Masters. \nRoger been coaching for 37 years 4 months after initially getting into the sport of rowing at the age of 15. His experience with the Victoria City Rowing Club Masters have helped him understand the specific needs of what Masters athletes are looking for in the sport. \nBoth of these coaches bring a wealth of experience and a keen eye for technique to this camp for the benefit of all participants. \nStrength and conditioning sessions will be designed and led by Steve Ramsbottom\, Owner of the Performance Institute. \nWeekend Overview:  \nFriday\, August 30th\n6:00-7:00 PM (plus optional group dinner) \nSaturday\, August 31st\n7:30 AM-5:30 PM (plus optional group dinner) \nSunday\, September 1st\n7:30 AM-4:30 PM \nRegistration: \nRegistration is available on a first-come-first-served basis. SUMMARY:2017 RCA National Rowing Championships - Canada Cup
DESCRIPTION:The 2017 RCA National Rowing Championships-Canada Cup will take place on Thursday\, November 9th to Sunday\, November 12th\, 2017\, at Burnaby Lake\, Burnaby\, BC. \nRegatta Details\nRowing BC has the honour of hosting the Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) National Rowing Championships and Canada Cup (NRC-CC) Regattas from 2016-2019. These regattas will be held consecutively at Burnaby Lake and will attract the finest rowers from across the country. \nThe National Rowing Championships are open to competitors from all over Canada as representatives of their home province. The small boat racing (singles and pairs) provides the ideal measure to assess the fastest rowers in the country\, resulting in the naming of national champions. The Canada Cup portion that follows provides the opportunity for Canada’s developing rowers to compete against other provinces within larger crews that include National Team Athletes who originated from their home province. \nThe Athlete Awards Banquet provides the opportunity for our athletes to celebrate their hard work and success over the past days of racing. For some athletes\, their performance at the NRC will be the pinnacle of their rowing career. Others may choose to not be part of the regatta\, but complete the camp on October 8th and 9th. Participants will benefit from the coaching of Rowing BC Provincial Coach\, Rob Richards and Delta Deas Rowing Club Head Coach\, Drew Edwards. Rob had the honour of watching his athlete\, Kieanna Stephens\, win a Bronze Medal in the W2x at the World Junior Rowing Championships. \nDrew Edwards:\nOver the last 11 years of coaching Drew has held the roles of lead coach for St Catharines Para Rowing & assistant coach for Junior Boys\,  and been the Row Ontario Para Coach. His athletes have been named to the CanAmMex Team and received gold medals at several Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association Regattas. Drew is a trained Performance Coach and currently uses his expertise to work with Juniors and Masters alike at the Delta Deas Rowing Club. \nWant to be involved?\nParticipants are expected to arrange their own equipment\, equipment transportation\, and accommodation (if necessary). No long-term trailer parking will be available. All equipment will be stored on-site in a designated area.  Club trailers attending the Burnaby Lake Small Boat Regatta are expected to vacate the parking lot by the end of the day on Saturday\, October 7th. \nThe camp will be open to 16 participants. Spots will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis as confirmed by complete registration and payment. DESCRIPTION:The 2016 RCA National Rowing Championships-Canada Cup will take place on Thursday\, September 22nd to Sunday\, September 25th\, 2016\, at Burnaby Lake\, Burnaby\, BC. \nRegatta Details\n2016 RCA National Rowing Championships\nWhere: Burnaby Lake\, Burnaby\, BC\nWhen: Thursday\, September 22 – Saturday\, September 24\, 2016 \n2016 Canada Cup\nWhere: Burnaby Lake\, Burnaby\, BC\nWhen: Sunday\, September 25\, 2016 \nTechnical details on the regattas\, including the daily racing schedule\, can be found on Regatta Central. \nVolunteers\nRowing BC is looking to fill volunteer positions between Tuesday\, September 20th and Sunday\, September 25th for those looking to give back to the BC Rowing Community. You can be involved anywhere from 2 hours to 20 hours over the course of the regatta and snacks/drinks will be available to all volunteers\, in addition to lunches for those signed up for 4+ hours shifts. All volunteers will also receive NRC-CC swag in appreciation for your hard work. \nIf interested in being part of this exciting event\, please considering signing up to volunteer. \n2016 Rowing Canada Aviron Athlete Awards Banquet\nThe Athlete Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday\, September 24\, 2016\, at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. The evening begins with a reception followed by the awards banquet where the 2016 National Rowing Championships medal winners will be recognized along with the Rowing Canada Aviron athlete awards. \nReception: 6pm – 7pm\nBanquet: 7pm – 9pm\nLocation: Crystal Ballroom\, Hilton Vancouver Metrotown\nDress Code: Cocktail\nParking: First 3 hours free. $2.50/half-hour after 3 hours.\nTickets: $100 each plus $2 processing fee.
