DESCRIPTION:Nanaimo Sprints Regatta hosted by Nanaimo Rowing Club.  \nLocation: Long Lake (Nanaimo) \nDescription: This 1000m event was created as an opportunity to end the Spring season specifically for JR athletes not planning to attend the Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association Regatta. While performance athletes are welcome\, the focus is on the development of novice and JV athletes. This regatta is being expanded to also include opportunities for SR and MA athletes looking for additional race opportunities at this point in the season. For JR athletes\, this event is a sister event to the Delta Deas Scholastic Regatta. SUMMARY:Rowing BC Masters Camp (Nanaimo)
DESCRIPTION:Date: June 15-17th\nLocation: Nanaimo\nHosts: Rowing BC\, Nanaimo Rowing Club\nTopic: Technical Development Camp\nGuest Coaches: Drew Harrison\, second guest coach TBA\nMinimum participants: 12\nCost to participate: $260 \nThis camp on Long Lake in Nanaimo\, BC is intended to provide an opportunity for Masters rowers to work with highly skilled coaches to fine-tune the technical aspects of their rowing. The weekend will include four on-water rowing sessions complimented by video analysis\, injury prevention and yoga sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to network and connect with rowers from other areas of the province during group lunches and dinners at some of the favourite spots for rowers in Nanaimo.  Registration includes a limited-edition Rowing BC Masters Camp long-sleeved technical shirt for all participants. All participants must be confident rowing a single or pair. \nFeatured Coach: Drew Harrison \nDrew Harrison loves coaching and rowing and feels effective rowing for Masters is just as important as it is for World Champions.  Drew has coached in 4 Olympics and numerous World Championships and has been National Coach in Japan and Canada.  He recently spent 3 months as Head Coach at the Asian Rowing Federation High Performance Training Camp in China.  He has led many coaching development workshops in Canada\, U.S.\, Japan\, and several other countries.  He also rows  a lot.  Drew started rowing in 1964 as a novice at Syracuse University where he is a member of the Rowing Hall of Fame and is a Letter Winner of Distinction.  “Let’s have a lot of fun sculling effectively at this camp.” \nWeekend Overview:  \nFriday\, June 15th\n6:30-9:30 PM \nSaturday\, June 16th\n7:30 AM-8:30 PM \nSunday\, June 17th\n7:30 AM-4:30 PM \nRegistration: \nRegistration is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Registrations received after a camp is full will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available. Completed registration includes submission of an online registration form along with payment made by cheque to the Rowing BC office (155-3820 Cessna Drive\, Richmond\, BC\, V7B 0A2) or e-transfer to admin@rowingbc.ca. \nComplete your registration form here. Registration deadline: Friday\, June 1st \nParticipants are expected to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
