2022 BC Summer Games Team Announcement

The BC Summer Games is a four-day event that takes place every two years throughout the province of BC, and provides one of the few opportunities for athletes to experience a multi-sport games. Rowing has been a major component to the games since 2010. The rowing events provide athletes the opportunity to represent their zone and compete in multiple competitions that promote physical fitness, individual achievement, and team building.

The rowing competition at the 2022 BC Summer Games includes events for male and female athletes in two age categories – Under 17 as of Dec. 31, 2022 and Under 19 as of Dec. 31, 2022. The competition is intended to provide a first multi-sport Games experience for U17 developing athletes, while also providing a Canada Summer Games-like experience for U19 athletes. Competition takes place over one practice day and three race days at the Games venue.  U17 Athletes have an opportunity to race in 1000m time trials, heats, semi-finals and finals in the women’s single, men’s single, women’s double, and men’s double. U19 Athletes have an opportunity to race in 2000m time trials, heats, semi-finals and finals in the women’s pair and men’s pair. In addition, all athletes have an opportunity to race in a 500m sprint in a mixed (two women and two men) quad.
