BC athletes and coaches shine at 2024 Canadian University Rowing Championships Regatta

The University of Victoria welcomed 21 university teams to their race course on Elk Lake in Victoria over the weekend of November 2-3, 2024 for the Canadian University Rowing Championships Regatta. BC was represented by four teams including Simon Fraser University (SFU), University of British Columbia (UBC), University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), and University of Victoria (UVIC).

Racing took place over two days, with time trials coming down the course on the first day, and side by side finals racing to the finish line on the second day. Take a look at some of the highlights for BC athletes:

• Women’s 1x – 1st UBC, 2nd UVIC
• Lwt Men’s 2x – 2nd UBC, 3rd UVIC
• Lwt Women’s 1x – 1st UVIC, 5th UBC
• Men’s 2- – 1st UBC, 3rd UVIC
• Women’s 8+ – 1st UBC, 2nd UVIC
• Lwt Men’s 4+ – 3rd UVIC, 4th UBC
• Men’s 1x – 1st UBC, 3rd UVIC
• Lwt Women’s 2x – 2nd UVIC, 3rd UBC
• Women’s 2- – 1st UBC, 2nd UVIC
• Lwt Men’s 1x – 2nd UVIC, 3rd UBC
• Lwt Women’s 4+ – 1st UVIC, 3rd UBC

The culmination of the Canadian University Rowing Championships includes a series of annual athlete and coach awards. This year, most of the awards stayed right here in BC! Congratulations to these outstanding teams, coaches, and athletes:
