Community Gaming Grants support eligible not-for-profit organizations that deliver community programs that benefit the citizens of British Columbia. Sport specific grants are for organizations that deliver community-based youth and/ or amateur sports programs for organized, competitive physical activities.
Grant amount:
– Local organizations: Up to $100,000 per year
– Regional organizations: Up to $225,000 per year

The BC Amateur Sport Fund, formerly known as the National Sport Trust Fund, is a philanthropic gift-giving program to support sport programs to benefit current and future generations. Administered by Sport BC, the BC Amateur Sport Fund is the BC chapter of the Canadian Council of Provincial & Territorial Sport Federations (“CCPTSF”). Canadian sport organizations can raise funds for specific causes that will promote the development of amateur sport in Canada while providing tax-deductible receipts for those who donate. The organizations that have registered projects are responsible for both the fundraising and the expenditures related to the funds raised. The CCPTSF partners with the amateur sport federation in each Canadian jurisdiction to achieve its objectives.

The BC Interior Community Foundation supports community-based programs in the areas of Arts & Culture, Health & Welfare, Sports & Recreation, and other charitable activities. Granting is available to the residents of the Thompson, Nicola, and South Cariboo region and within the communities of Lillooet, Lytton, Clinton, 70 Mile House, Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Kamloops, Clearwater, Barriere, Chase, Logan Lake and Merritt.

The Interior Savings Community Investment Fund provides seed money or one-time financial support to help launch sustainable programs that empower people in our communities with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to achieve their potential. The goal of this grant is to provide support for youth to effectively participate and develop necessary skills through sports and recreational activities. The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation believes that youth develop leadership and teamwork skills through participation in team sports and community-based activities. Taking part in organized activities and special events allows individuals to feel like they have a greater role in their own communities. Through the BC Ferries Sport Experience Program, BC Ferries and viaSport provide travel support to eligible not-for-profit sport organizations and athletes. Vouchers may be used by athletes traveling to compete in international events, national championships, western Canadian championships, provincial championships or selection camps hosted in British Columbia and for coaches and officials travelling to a recognized certification or professional development opportunity.

The Jack Nicholson Coaching Bursary has been created by Rowing Canada Aviron and Jack’s family to acknowledge his immense contributions. This year $1,000 will be presented to the recipient(s) who best demonstrate(s) Jack’s commitment, intuition and passion for coaching. Candidates should be seeking funding support to pursue their own goals related to improving their coaching skills through coaching certification, conference participation and mentoring or apprentice opportunities.

The intent of the Canadian Sport Institute Athlete Travel Grant is to provide provincially and nationally targeted athletes with travel assistance towards their participation in national and international competitions.
