WORKSHOP: RCA Coastal Coach Workshop (Virtual Component)
Workshop Overview:
The RCA Coastal Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with coastal rowers.
This workshop is divided into two components – a virtual component and an in-person component. Coaches should plan to attend a virtual component and an in-person component in the same season if possible as the content is interconnected.
In the coastal workshops you will learn about and discuss: coastal rowing safety, training and race skills, boat handling, rigging, and Rules of Racing.

This workshop will be delivered virtually (via Zoom) over the combination of two evenings:
- Thursday, March 19th 6-9 PM
- Tuesday, March 24th 6-9 PM
Full engagement during all sessions is required to receive credit for this workshop.
Registration: Registration and payment ($75 workshop fee) is available through EventBrite HERE.
Registration will close at 8 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026. There must be a minimum of 6 registrants at that time for this workshop to proceed. Contact memberservices@rowingbc.ca if you have missed the deadline and want to know more about other upcoming opportunities.
Pre-requisites:
Before taking this workshop, all coaches must have completed the following RCA Every Coach Certified Requirements:
- Criminal Record Check
- NCCP Coach Initiation In Sport (Online Module)
- RCA Rowing Essentials (Online Module)
- Making Ethical Decisions Module (Multiple Delivery Options Available)

In addition, coaches are expected to have a Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card.
