Strategic Planning Update – Your input is shaping the future of rowing in BC

Over the past several months, our Strategic Planning Steering Committee has been actively listening, learning, and considering the future direction of Rowing BC. With your valued contributions, we’re now entering the final stages of developing Rowing BC’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan.

What We’ve Done
Since launching this process, we have:

• Conducted a comprehensive environmental scan to assess sector trends and future opportunities
• Reviewed previous strategic plans for continuity and evolution
• Hosted targeted engagement sessions with stakeholders
• Received hundreds of thoughtful comments through our province-wide survey
• Held a workshop with the Board of Directors to help review and prioritize the key themes.

These touch points have helped us understand what matters most to you – and have directly informed the priorities of our next plan.

Why Your Voice Matters
From athletes and coaches to umpires, volunteers, and club leaders – your input has helped guide the vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities of Rowing BC. This is truly a community-built plan.

What Happens Next
A draft of the new strategic plan is now being finalized and will be reviewed by the Rowing BC Board of Directors in the next month. Once approved, it will be presented to the full membership at the Annual General Meeting in November 2025.
