WORKSHOP: RCA Coastal Coach Practical Workshop (Victoria)
Workshop Overview:
The RCA Coastal Coach Workshop is intended for coaches who will be working with coastal rowers.
This workshop is divided into two components – a virtual component and an in-person component. Coaches should plan to attend a virtual component and an in-person component in the same season if possible as the content is interconnected.
In the coastal workshops you will learn about and discuss: coastal rowing safety, training and race skills, boat handling, rigging, and Rules of Racing.
Details:
Sunday, May 24 8 AM – 12 PM at Cadboro-Gyro Park.
This is a hands-on workshop at Cadboro Bay where workshop participants will have the opportunity to play the role of coach, regatta organizer, boat holder, and athlete. Wear clothing appropriate for going into the water! And bring a change of clothes for afterwards.
Full engagement during all sessions is required to receive credit for this workshop.

Registration will close on Friday, May 15 at 8 AM. There must be 4 registrants by this time for the workshop to run.
Pre-requisites:
Before taking this workshop, all coaches must have completed the following RCA Every Coach Certified Requirements:
- Criminal Record Check
- NCCP Coach Initiation In Sport (Online Module)
- RCA Rowing Essentials (Online Module)
- Making Ethical Decisions Module (Multiple Delivery Options Available)

In addition, coaches are expected to have completed the RCA Coastal Coach Virtual Workshop and have a Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card.
