Outboard Engine Maintenance

November 13, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm
Free

Each workshop is 90’ long and runs at the same time as Trailer Driving 101

Date: Sunday, November 13, 2016
Time: Session 1: 11:00am – 12:30pm / Session 2: 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Led by Neil Duckworth and co-facilitated by Stewart Wheeler, this is a great opportunity to literally get inside the inner workings of an outboard. Safety of athletes under your care is the basic framework for any rowing experience, and too many coaches have no understanding of this essential coaching tool… a working outboard engine.

This workshop will take you through the steps of basic maintenance to ensure your engine is kept in good working order. There will also be a step-by-step approach to understanding and solving many of the common issues facing when a motor refuses to start.

This is a hands-on session facilitated outside, so please dress appropriately.

Note: lunch and hot and cold beverage will be provided (FREE) at 12:30pm

To register for the workshop, please fill out the online Coach Development Session Form.

For more information on this and other upcoming Coach Development Sessions, feel free to contact Martin George, Rowing BC Coaching Coordinator.

*** The Coach Development Sessions qualify for Professional Development (PD) points for certified coaches, under the Coaches Association of Canada. To track your PD points online, visit the Maintenance of Certification website.
