The Faces Behind Rowing BC – MEGHAN MONTGOMERY

In her own words:

I started rowing in Winnipeg in my second year of university. In less than I year, I was selected for the 2001 Team Manitoba rowing team. In 2006, I was selected for the Rowing Canada Para-Rowing team. I was on the team for three Paralympic Games teams in 2008, 2012 and 2016. I won a bronze medal at the Paralympic Games in Rio.

This is my first year and term serving on the Rowing BC Board. I have been working with Susan as a member of the selection committee for new Rowing BC board members. I have also enjoyed brainstorming ideas about Para-Rowing with Martin George and coming up with different ways to make it more accessible.

I work full-time at a boarding school and live in a boarding house. Ten months of the year, my days are quite full. I am lucky to also get to coach rowing for the school. In the summer, I have been returning to Winnipeg to spend time with my family and coach at the Winnipeg Rowing Club. Otherwise, I enjoy hiking with my pup!
