Rowing BC is the non-profit provincial governing body for the sport of rowing in British Columbia. The 3,600 participants of the BC rowing community benefit from many Rowing BC services, including coach education and development, regatta sanctioning, and delivery of Provincial Team initiatives.
Rowing BC has a busy summer planned- we are sending Team BC to the Canada Summer Games, July 28th-August 13th, 2017 and we are already in the planning stages for delivery of the 2017 RCA National Rowing Championships and Canada Cup regattas that will take place in November. Rowing BC staff and volunteer organizing committees require assistance to manage and deliver these events. Additionally, Rowing BC has a number of community engagement projects that the ideal candidate will be asked to lead.
This is an excellent opportunity for the appropriate candidate to support the delivery of a national sport event and to assist some of BC’s top rowers as they prepare for competition. The selected candidate will gain practical skills in event management, volunteer co-ordination, marketing and community engagement best practices and general administrative support.
The nature of this role requires that the successful candidate is available for work during office hours, and in some cases for evening meetings with organizing committees.
Interested and qualified candidates should submit via email, a resume and cover letter outlining how they meet the necessary qualifications and experience to Jennifer Fitzpatrick, Executive Director (exdirector(at)rowingbc.ca), by Monday, May 8th, 2017. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. The successful candidate will be required to authorize and pass a Criminal Record Check with the BC Criminal Records Review Program.
