Looking Back on the 2022 Canada Summer Games

The Canada Summer Games (CSG) is Canada’s largest youth focused multi-sport event that provides competition opportunities for developing athletes. This event brings together the best athletes from each Canadian province and territory. The Games provide the stimulus for Canadian youth to reach their athletic potential, pursue personal excellence and develop socially and culturally within the context of ethical competition. The 2022 Canada Summer Games were held in Niagara, Ontario, with the rowing portion being hosted in St Catharines, Ontario August 15-19, 2022.

Team BC was represented at the 2022 Canada Summer Games by 26 athletes and 6 support staff. The complete team announcement can be read HERE. These athletes completed their Games experience with an overall 1 Gold, 5 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, in addition to 3 fourth place A final finishes. Team BC Coach, Stacy Mitchell reflected on the overall experience with these words:

The Niagara region hosted an incredible Games for our athletes. With the potential to medal in all events, our extraordinary BC athletes dug deep and truly showed what they were made of and how fast they could go on the race course! We can’t wait to see our athletes on the International stage representing our province proudly in the future.
