How a Crew of First-Time Rowers Found Friendship, Fitness, and a Whole Lot of Heart…
The Faces Behind Rowing BC – ROB RICHARDS
In his own words:
I started rowing at my home club of Wendouree Ballarat Rowing Club in Australia when I was 15 years old. At that time, I was heavily involved in Basketball until one of my teachers posted a sign-up sheet for a come a try session for Rowing. Within a year I left basketball and became a rower.
I’ve been involved with the sport for around 35 years now in a number of positions. As an athlete, I was able to achieve some major personal goals. As a coach, I’ve been lucky to work with both Canadian and Australian athletes within Club, School and University programs whom have gone on to great success.
Away from the sport of rowing, you can find me hanging out with family and trying to squeeze in some laps on the Coquitlam Crunch..
