Rowing BC is currently reviewing the requirements of all coaches in BC to ensure they are in Good Standing! Here is what is required of every rowing coach in Canada:
- Coaches must be registered in a “coach role” for their club in Rowing Canada Aviron’s WebReg System.
- Coaches must complete all three modules that were adopted by RCA in 2019 as part of the Every Coach Certified Initiative: Coach Initiation in Sport (if coach is new to coach education in Canada as of April 2019), Rowing Essentials, Make Ethical Decisions.
- Coaches must meet the screening requirements set forth in the Screening Policy of the Safe Sport Policy suite.
- Coaches must complete the Safe Sport module.
- Clubs should also keep track of other relevant certifications and training (e.g. boating license, first aid, etc.)
- Clubs must notify RCA about any changes to their list of coaches in WebReg at least yearly.

If you are curious about your coaches, you can check the Good Standing List on the RCA website to see if they are included.
